This is a 20×16 inch painting on board of the famous and handsome dog Brahmin, standing in front of the Boston Lighthouse.

This is a very special commission. The painting is going to be auctioned at the American Bullmastiff Association Art Auction, in Boston, on the 24th of September. The proceeds will go to the ABA to help with the work they do with bullmastiffs. All animals charities are struggling in these difficult times, so I hope this painting will help raise much needed funds for ABA and bullmastiffs.

High Speed Gardening

I have a new print, High Speed Gardening. This is Mabel, a young Springer Spaniel, running around the garden with half a tree in her mouth! It certainly didn’t slow her down any! She was having a wonderful time on a sunny day.

The original painting was an acrylic painting on canvas board and it’s sold.

King Of The Beach

This is Prince, a chocolate labrador. He is enjoying the sunshine on Kingsgate Beach, Broadstairs in Kent. This is one of my new ‘Dogs On The Beach’ paintings. The painting is on show at the moment at the Ripley Arts Centre in Bromley.

He is a 16×12 inch acrylic on board.

High Speed Gardening

Here is my latest painting. A Springer Spaniel running around the garden with half a tree in her mouth. It certainly didn’t slow her down any!

I wanted to get the feel of a hot, sunny day into the painting. I used lots of warm colour, even in the shadows, and some thick paint in places too.
This is a 16×12 acrylic painting on board.

Running On The Beach

This painting is the first in a new series ‘dog in action’ paintings I hope to do over the summer. I wanted to get the feeling of a sunny day on the beach and the sheer joy of running! I wanted a blast of colour with the light coming from behind him.

This was done on paper in acrylics. Here’s a close up detail.

Bull Terrier Print

This little print was inspired by a challenge to do something in black and white. Not my usual territory! I thought it would be easier to start with a black and white dog, and Bull Terriers are beautiful dogs, so I wanted to try and capture Boo in black and white. In the end I couldn’t quite manage it, I had to leave her pink tongue! But it was fun to try doing something very different and I’m pleased with the end result. I think it has captured her smile.
