English Setter

This is a beautiful english setter dog and I’m painting her in watercolour and acrylics on watercolour paper in loose layers of colour.

And here she is very nearly finished, painted in acrylics on a fine canvas. Sasha - American BulldogSeptember 9th, 2005  A sketch of Sasha, a beautiful American Bulldog. I think I’m going to do her on hot pink.  Here she is very nearly finished. She’s been painted in acrylics on a fine linen canvas using lots of thin layers of colour. She really is a pretty dog.  I think she looks wonderful against the hot pinks and reds in the sofa, the colours emphasise the delicate pinks and creams in her coat. Its painted in acrylics on fine grained canvas. Zipper - Weimaraner DogJuly 19th, 2005
Zipper is a very handsome Weimaraner dog who lives with Laura and Bill. Standing against the green of the background his coat is filled with blues and purples and the way it shines emphasises his lovely shape. Truly the super models of the canine world! I’ve picked a wide, narrow format to show off his shape. It’s a 20 x 10 inch oil painting and it’s being painted in softly blended layers.
Weimaraner’s have amazing eyes. Alfie and AilsaJuly 19th, 2005  This hasn’t made it as far as the easel yet, it’s still in the ideas stage. Alfie, a Bengal cat and Ailsa, a Doberman live with Kathryn and their other feline friends. I really like this pose of the two great friends but haven’t decided on the background yet.
